The LumiFreeze technology is a form of non-invasive and non-surgical alternative to liposuction that uses controlled low temperatures to selectively target fat bulges and crystallise fat cells. Surrounding tissues and organs are left unharmed.

As a result, the treated fat cells will be flushed out of your body naturally through the lymphatic system over 6 to 8 weeks. The results are permanent and each treatment aims to reduce 15% to 26% of fat in the treatment area.

As an externally applied treatment, it is pain free and there is no down time needed - which means you get to return to work and normal daily activities right after!

1st generation fat freezing only contains 2 plates at the sides of the applicator. This targets a much lower surface area of fat than our LumiFreeze 360° applicator.

Traditional fat freezing technology only allows you to utilise maximum 2 applicators per session. LumiFreeze allows you to utilise a maximum of 4 applicators.

Traditional fat freezing takes about 60 to 90 minutes whereas LumiFreeze only requires 30 to 40 minutes of treatment time.

Q: Who is suitable for

'LumiFreeze'?

A: This treatment is ideal for

those above age 21 who are

at a stable weight with small to moderate areas of

stubborn fat that are

resistant to diet and exercise.

Q: How many treatments do I need to see results?

A: This depends on each individual's desire to reach a certain size, the exact number of sessions will be better advised after the consultation. Generally, results can be seen after 3 weeks and optimal results occur 1-4 months after the treatment.

Q: How long does the treatment take?

A: The full session for each treated area is about 30-40 minutes. Our 360° Lumifreeze is able to target up to 4 areas at the same time.

Q: Is the treatment

painful?

A: The suction of fat into the applicator will cause some discomfort at the beginning. Once the temperature drops, the area will be numb and there will no discomfort experienced. After the applicator is removed, there will be another round of discomfort as the blood rushes to the treated area.

Q: Is there any downtime after the treatment?

A: Nope! You can return to your daily activities immediately. As the treatment is non-invasive, there is no need for any recovery time :)

Q: Who is not suitable for this treatment?

A: You should not go for this treatment if you have any of the following conditions:

* Cryoglobulinemia (condition where abnormal proteins in your blood thicken in low temperatures)

* Paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria (anemia that destroys your red blood cells in low temperatures)

* Known sensitivity to cold such as cold urticaria (skin condition that causes hives in low temperatures) or Raynaud’s disease

* Impaired peripheral circulation in the area to be treated

* Neuropathic disorders such as post-herpetic neuralgia

* Impaired skin sensation / swelling, open or infected wounds in the area to be treated

* Bleeding disorders or concomitant use of blood thinners

* Recent surgery or scar tissue in the area to be treated

* A hernia or history of hernia in the area to be treated

* Skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, or rashes in the area to be treated

* Under the influence of excessive alcohol

* Auto-immune conditions (i.e., scleroderma)

* Silicone implants or injections in treatment area

* Any active implanted devices such as pacemakers and defibrillators

* Thrombophlebitis (inflammatory process that causes a blood clot to form and block one or more veins)

* Thrombosis (condition where blood clots block your blood vessels)

* Osteoporosis (disease which makes bones weak and fragile)

* Hypertension / diabetes / epilepsy / cancer

* Undiagnosed lumps and varicose veins

* Heart/ kidney / liver problems

* Pregnancy / lactation

Q: What to expect after treatment?

A: You can return to your daily activities immediately after your treatment.

* It’s normal to experience brief tingling or stinging sensations.

* You may experience stiffness and/or transient blanching (temporary whitening of the skin) in the treated area(s).

* Slight nausea or dizziness may occur for a few minutes as your body readjusts to its natural warmth and sensation.

* Redness in the treated area(s) may persist for up to a few hours after the applicator is removed.

* Any bruising, swelling, numbness, and/or tenderness that occurs will resolve within two weeks.

* It is common for the treated area(s) to feel bloated or swollen in the first few weeks after treatment.

* A temporary dullness in sensation could occur for several weeks.

*After submental area treatment, a feeling of fullness in the back of the throat may occur.

* As the body breaks down and flushes the treated fat cells, a gradual reduction in the thickness of the fat layer in the treated area(s) will take place. You may start to see changes as early as three weeks after your last treatment session, with full results becoming apparent after one to four months. Your body will continue to process and flush out the dead fat cells for about four months after your last session.

Q: What are the risks or potential side effects?

A: Do note that each individual’s experience will differ. Some individuals may experience a delayed onset of the previously mentioned occurrences in the section of “What To Expect After Treatment”.

* A small number of individuals have experienced gradual development of a firmer enlargement, of varying size and shape, of the treatment area, known as “paradoxical hyperplasia”, in the months following the treatment.

If such paradoxical hyperplasia occurs, it will be distinguishable from temporary swelling and will probably not resolve on its own. The enlargement/ lump can be removed by means of a surgical procedure such as liposuction.

* A small number of individuals have experienced excessive fat removal in the treatment area, resulting in an unwanted indentation (treatment area demarcation). The indentation may be improved through corrective procedures.

* In rare cases, individuals have experienced vasovagal symptoms during the treatment, and reported frostbite, darker skin colour, hardness or discrete nodules. Treatment may cause new hernia formation or exacerbate pre-existing hernia, which may require surgical repair.
